How to KonMari your finances

It’s the Marie Kondo method of tidying up and it’s trending worldwide. You’ve done the pantry, the laundry and the junk room, re-organising and de-cluttering, but when was the last time you tidied up your super?

1. Find those lost accounts

If you’re a fan of Mari Kondo, you’ll know when it comes to organising she likes to get everything out in a big pile so you can see what you’ve got. It’s the same with your super. Do a super search online to find all those various super accounts you’ve accumulated throughout the years – with TelstraSuper it’s easy to do online in minutes. 

You can then choose to consolidate them into your TelstraSuper account – just make sure you transfer any insurance you want to keep before you combine accounts.

2. Update your details

Perhaps you got married, moved house or simply changed jobs – tidy up the admin side of your super by contacting us to update your details. We suggest keeping a personal mobile number and email address as your contact details so we don’t lose touch if you ever move jobs.

3. Open your super statements

They might be in the bottom of a junk draw or if they’re lucky, maybe they found their way to a stack of filing. Reading your super statement is a great way to keep track of how your super is performing and stay on top of any insurance you might hold through your account. Plus our new-look statements make them easier to understand than ever before.

4. Switch to paperless

If paper doesn’t bring you joy you can choose to receive your statements online. They’ll be saved in your online account so you can refer back to them whenever you need, from anywhere in the world. Plus it’s a great way to go green in 2019.
