As a TelstraSuper member you can access Mental Health Navigator, a free confidential service run by Best Doctors® through MLC Life Insurance. It’s open to all members and their immediate family, even if you don’t have insurance through your TelstraSuper account.
Mental Health Navigator can provide expert mental health guidance on treatment options for the best path forward. It’s a way of quickly finding assistance you may need through access to a network of leading clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. You don’t need to have seen a doctor or been diagnosed with any medical ‘condition’. You can also use the service to provide a second opinion if you have already seen a health professional. It’s designed to help you, or your family member, if you:
- don’t feel like your normal self
- haven’t received a formal diagnosis but you’re seeking support
- aren’t improving after a diagnosis or treatment
- aren’t sure if your diagnosis or treatment plan is correct
- want assurance on the next step or want help navigating the mental health system.
Mental Health Navigator is a discreet service which is accessible with a phone call. Your initial discussion is with a Best Doctors dedicated mental health nurse who can guide you through the process. The nurse will assess your needs, provide ongoing support and put you in contact with an expert who can provide specialist support and guidance. Through video phone discussions they will review your mental health condition and suggest a clear action plan. The nurse is available for up to six months to provide further support if you need it.
The whole service is confidential and at no cost and is also available to your immediate family members including children aged over 18, parents, your partner and partner’s parents.
