TelstraSuper Financial Planning appoints new Executive General Manager

TelstraSuper Financial Planning has appointed Melinda Huggins to the role of Executive General Manager, Financial Planning.

Ms Huggins has extensive experience in leadership, change management and financial services, with previous senior roles at Perpetual, Macquarie Bank, E*Trade Australia, ANZ and AMP.

TelstraSuper CEO Chris Davies said that Ms Huggins has a well-rounded skill set and proven track record of leading high quality teams.

“Melinda has a genuine passion for quality advice and excellent service,” said Mr Davies. “When combined with her depth of experience in financial services, we’re confident that she’s the right person to guide TelstraSuper Financial Planning into the future.”

TelstraSuper Financial Planning was established in 2001 to provide advice services exclusively to TelstraSuper members. This includes providing comprehensive financial advice on a range of topics such as debt management, insurance adequacy, complex super contributions and more. Advice can be on an on-going or once-off basis.

TelstraSuper membership was original only open to current and former Telstra group employees, but in 2022 the Fund dropped entry requirements to allow anyone to join.

“It’s an exciting time for both TelstraSuper and TelstraSuper Financial Planning,” said Mr Davies. “As we look to expand the fund having the right people with the right values, skills and experience will be vital.”

Speaking of her appointment, Ms Huggins said that she was looking forward to joining the profit-to-member super sector.

“TelstraSuper Financial Planning has a strong reputation and offering,” said Ms Huggins. “I’m looking forward to leading such a high-performing and renowned team.”

Ms Huggins officially joins TelstraSuper Financial Planning on Wednesday 22 February.
