Before combining your super

Insurance – changing funds could affect your current insurance arrangements. When you consolidate your accounts into TelstraSuper you’ll lose any insurance cover with your current funds. You may be eligible to keep your current death and total and permanent disability insurance when you switch to TelstraSuper, ask us how.

What documents or information do I need to combine my super?
- Other fund details – a recent statement would be handy for all the details we need.
- Your tax file number (TFN) – or try our online search
- Full or partial transfer – consider the implications of full or partial withdrawal from your old fund
How do I know if I have multiple super accounts?
- Log in to SuperOnline and follow the prompts to find your other super.
- Call us on 1300 033 166 for help over the phone.
Do I pay exit fees
- Exit fees were banned in 2019. However, you should check with your current fund to see what fees (including any buy/sell spreads) might still apply.
How long does it take to combine my super?
- It takes just 5 minutes to combine your super online, simply log into SuperOnline to get started.
- Once you’ve completed the online process it can take up to 10 business days for your super balances to be combined.
Can I transfer my KiwiSaver to TelstraSuper?
- Yes, you can transfer your KiwiSaver balance to TelstraSuper and avoid multiple sets of fees and taxes in one easy-to-manage account. Before you transfer your super, you should consider the implications of transferring your account balance (including on insurance, fees and tax).
