Great news, our Income Protection premiums have decreased

Our Income Protection insurance premiums decreased on 1 July 2023.

As a profit-for-member fund we are always looking to improve our award-wining* insurance offering for our members. We are excited to announce our Income Protection rates decreased, making our insurance offering even more affordable.

We’ve also secured another three years of competitive rates for our Death and Total & Permanent Disablement (TPD) insurance cover.

This is a great outcome for our members as not only our premium rates fixed for another three years (except in very limited circumstances#), but members are able to maintain the great cover and dedicated customer service that we've always provided.

*Refer to the TelstraSuper Awards page to see further information on our awards from both third-party rating agencies and industry peers that recognised TelstraSuper as a leading profit to member super fund telstrasuper.com.au/awards
#These circumstances include events such as war, legislative or regulatory changes, or significant changes to the TelstraSuper membership as defined by our policy.

How much you're saving

Income Protection premium rates have decreased between 11.5% and 30%, depending on your gender, age and the type of cover. Recent claims experience shows that there has been a general reduction in claims made by older female members. As a result, females aged over 41 receive a greater share of the premium discount so that their premiums are more aligned to males of a similar age.

Below is an overview of the savings for a sample of ages and gender for members in TelstraSuper Corporate Plus.
