This year we’ve seen some return to our normal way of life now that the worst of the pandemic is behind us, and at TelstraSuper we’ve enjoyed many more opportunities to meet and do business face-to-face.

We have continued to enhance our products and member services, further building our innovative, personalised SuperOnline platform. A highlight for 2022 is the launch of our new Guidance calculator, “How long will your super last” which allows members in retirement to calculate the impact of different scenarios on their super balance. This new tool will help members make decisions about the income they want to enjoy their lifestyle in retirement.

The advice services from TelstraSuper Financial Planning have continued to see strong uptake by our membership. Last year we revamped our offer to deliver advice for every life stage – from simple advice over the phone, to topic-based personal advice, through to comprehensive financial planning, which has helped members navigate these more challenging times and explore ways to boost their retirement outcomes.   

Earlier this year, I was pleased to announce a reduction in our administration fees from 1 July 2022, directly helping members maximise their super savings. The percentage-based administration fee was reduced to 0.17 per cent p.a. on members’ account balances and the dollar-based administration fee was reduced to $1.00 per week – the lowest they have been in TelstraSuper’s history. As we continue to grow our membership base, build our capabilities and become more efficient, we will look to pass on cost savings to members where we can.

Having been around for over 30 years we have a wealth of knowledge from which all Australians can benefit. So earlier this year we’ve opened our doors to everyone, enabling even more opportunities for the fund. You can refer your friends and family here. 

Finally, TelstraSuper has again been recognised for our market-leading offer. In May, TelstraSuper was named Pension Fund of the Year and Best Fund Insurance at the 2022 Chant West Awards, and in October, we were named the SuperRatings’ Pension of the Year. TelstraSuper was also very proud to receive the SuperRatings’ Momentum Award, recognising the trailblazing work we are doing in the transition to retirement and retirement space, and to have maintained our Platinum rating from SuperRatings for the 18th straight year. We’re delighted that the hard work we’ve been doing for members has been recognised by our industry and we remain committed to continuing to deliver superior products and services.
