Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it's your super!
September 19, 2022
Ever wondered when the flying cars of Star Wars or the Jetsons will be less fantasy and more reality? With the help of a TelstraSuper investment, that time may be sooner than you think.
Meet Vertiia. It looks like a cross between a helicopter and a small plane, but it’s so much more. Vertiia uses its unique design to cruise through the air at speeds of up to 300km per hour and fly non-stop for over 200km when powered by electric batteries and 1000kms when powered by hydrogen. This will make it the world’s most efficient electrical vertical take-off and landing aircraft*.
Vertiia is designed and built in Australia by AMSL Aero. Andrew Moore and Siobhan Lyndon, are co-founders who had a dream to ease traffic congestion, provide more flexibility, and most importantly, help with the de-carbonisation of transport. Their vision has now become an actuality with the business already securing contracts with the Australian Department of Defence, a partnership with air medical organisation Careflight, and a Memorandum of Understanding with Qantas.
If you invest in the TelstraSuper Growth, Lifestyle Growth, Balanced or Lifestyle Balanced investment options then you’re actively supporting this innovative start-up which looks set to revolutionise the aeromedical, emergency services and passenger markets. Test flights begin later this year so be prepared to look to the sky and think – is it a bird? is it a plane? No, it’s Vertiia, and my super helped make that happen.
