4 ways to get the most of your insurance with our new online insurance portal

From managing your insurance cover to making a claim, it’s now easier than ever to control your insurance through our online insurance portal.

Feet on a lilly padEligible* members now have access to a new online insurance portal which they’ll be able to access through their TelstraSuper online account. Here’s some of the ways you can get the most from it.

Check and/or apply to change your level of insurance cover

Login to see your current levels of insurance cover such as Death cover, Total Permanent Disablement cover and Income Protection cover. From there you can:

  • apply to change (including increase) your cover or cancel if you wish;
  • transfer cover from another insurer; and
  • apply for additional insurance cover without providing medical evidence if you meet one or more ‘life events.’ Find out more about life events

It’s important to understand that if you want to make changes to your insurance cover online, they’re not instantly granted - `you’re simply completing the application process online and any changes are subject to approval by our insurer. Our insurer, MLC Life Insurance, will contact you if they need any further information and we’ll let you know the result of your application.

If you choose to cancel your insurance cover and then want it back later, your ability to restart your cover may be subject to health assessment and acceptance by the Insurer, and you may not be able to get cover or the same level of cover that you had previously.

Online calculators

Before making any changes to your insurance cover, you might like to try our Needs Calculator. This can help you understand how much cover you might need based on the information you enter about your personal circumstances. For example if you have debt like a mortgage to pay or family members to financially support.

You can also use our Premium Calculator to get an estimate of how much the premium cost will be for a nominated amount of cover for your membership type. Premiums  for member paid insurance inside super will be deducted directly from your super account. More information about insurance cover premiums is contained in the relevant insurance policy and in the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and Insurance Guide for your membership division available on our website.
