Income protection premiums are decreasing

In great news for our members, TelstraSuper’s Income Protection insurance premiums are decreasing from 1 July 2023.

We are also excited to announce that we have been able to secure another three years of competitive rates for our Death and Total & Permanent Disablement (TPD) insurance cover.

TelstraSuper Head of Insurance & Claims, Fiona La Greca, said the reduction was a great outcome for TelstraSuper members with rates to be fixed for another three years (except in very limited circumstances*).

“As a profit-for-member fund, TelstraSuper is always looking for ways to improve its insurance offering for our members”, said Ms La Greca.  “Insurance available through superannuation is an important component of our members’ financial safety net and we have worked closely with insurer, MLC Life Insurance, to provide affordable insurance premiums so that members have more money in their retirement whilst also benefitting from great levels of cover for when they might need it most.”

How much will members save?

Income Protection premiums will decrease between 11.5% and 30% from 1 July 2023, depending on your age and gender.
